Some places hold years of memories. Bridger Bowl Ski Area in Bozeman, Montana is one of those places.
I’ve been skiing at Bridger for years. It’s where winter days meant early mornings, cold chairlift rides, and that feeling you get when you reach the top and see the mountains stretching out around you. Getting the chance to come back with my camera in place of my skis and spend the day on the mountain with green grass and flowers was surreal.
I had the opportunity to second shoot this wedding for an amazing photographer, Aleks, who has been such an inspiration to me. Being able to learn from someone whose work I admire while documenting a wedding in a place I love made the day even more meaningful.
Bridger Bowl has a kind of beauty that feels very Montana. The sweeping mountain views, the crisp air, and the quiet feeling you get when you’re surrounded by peaks create such an incredible atmosphere for a wedding.
Throughout the day, I found myself noticing the little moments that make weddings so meaningful. The way the couple looked at each other during their vows, the energy on the dance floor in the lodge, the butterfly that followed the bride around and their dog, Nala being so excited to be there for her mom and dad’s special day. Those moments are always what I’m drawn to most as a photographer.

Being able to document those moments in a place I’ve loved for so long felt really full circle. Skiing at Bridger Bowl has been part of my life for years, and now it holds another memory. One where the mountain that has given me so many good days also became the setting for a beautiful beginning for someone else.
Photographing weddings in meaningful places always reminds me why I love this work so much. It’s not just about the scenery, even when it’s as stunning as Bridger. It’s about the stories that unfold there and the memories that will be carried forward long after the day is over.
And honestly, getting to combine a place I love with the chance to document someone’s wedding day is one of the greatest parts of this job.
If you’re planning a mountain wedding and want your day documented in a way that feels natural and true to you, I would love to connect and hear about your story.
